September 1999. High levels of carbon monoxide (CO) are continuously destroyed at the 300,000 cu. ft., indoor loading dock of the VA Medical Center in San Diego, California, using a CAP-350 Clean Air Plant. Since start-up, CO emissions have been reduced to non-harmful levels. Employees have experienced a dramatic improvement in air quality. Diesel exhaust fumes have been destroyed and no longer invade the adjoining medical center.
sgblue, inc., an environmental biotechnology company in New Jersey, designed this portable, biotreatment system to destroy air contaminants in industrial and commercial applications. The new model CAP-350 handles a flow rate of 350 cfm, features automatic watering, and cleans areas larger than 5000 ft2.
The CAP™ Clean Air Plants use a unique biological process to remove particulates and heavy metals and destroy organic contaminants, such as, fuels, solvents, pesticides, airborne particles, smoke, toxic fumes and gases, including carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, and hydrogen cyanide. CAPs utilize biological organisms and enzymes to oxidize and destroy contaminants and purify the air. There are no filters to replace and CAPs do not contribute to additional pollution.
CAPs are ideal for cleaning plants, laboratories, warehouses, shops, loading docks, restaurants, and bars. CAPs can be placed anywhere in areas of high pollution. In large contaminated areas or in cases of accidental spills involving toxic gases or vapors, CAPs may be placed directly in the area of greatest concentration to minimize hazardous exposure. CAPs also can be used to surpass OSHA standards for air in the workplace.
